I have started using Jenkins since 2018.Thinking myself as eligible person to write certification decided to take exam on August.

Chose the Certified Cloudbees Jenkins Engineer(CCJE) and gave an attempt with a preparation of three weeks and failed for first time and chose Certified Jenkins Engineer(CJE) for the second time and passed with quite good score of 79%.

Here is the Top ten points for you to clear Certification exam.

  1. Use the 3 freely available, self paced, cloudbees provided courses called cloudbees University -Jenkins Fundamentals,Pipeline Fundamentals,Administration Fundamentals using the link https://standard.cbu.cloudbees.com/.
  2. Use the study guide for Jenkins available in the link https://www.previous.cloudbees.com/sites/default/files/cje-study-guide-2018.pdf.
  3. Get Your hands dirty at least on Installation of Jenkins and Deploying an application using applications,sending notifications and post commit actions like for every push,deployment has to take place.
  4. Know about CI/CD/CD(Continuous Integration ,Continuous Delivery and Continuous Deployment) using the link http://www.martinfowler.com/ and I have used other links mentioned in the Study guide stated above in point 2.
  5. There are courses available in udemy for free on Jenkins.You may use it to know the basic introduction.
  6. I have used Linuxacademy Community version and Look for jenkins Engineer in course Search and attempted Mock Exam alone for free and really it is worth to take.
  7. Don’t Choose Certified Cloudbees Jenkins Engineer unless if You are going to use Cloud and Enterprise version of Jenkins.
  8. Go through the https://jenkins.io/doc/ if you don’t get a chance to access Linux Academy.
  9. As mandatory learn to create a job and trigger and run it through console,API and CLI.
  10. And Finally I have tried my best to remember the questions received from my exam .PFB and sorry if my handwriting is not understandable.
